Stunning Hawke's Bay sheep herding footage you have to see to believe

Captivating aerial footage of sheep being herded on a farm in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, has attracted international attention.

Photographer Tim Whittaker used a drone to film the sheep being moved from one paddock to another on a farm off the Napier-Taihape Road, on the east coast of the North Island.

Whittaker said he was the only video drone operator in Hawke’s Bay to be certified by the Civil Aviation Authority, and he took the footage while carrying out an assignment for industry marketing agency Beef & Lamb NZ.

“The original brief was to get stills but I just thought [the sheep make] crazy patterns from the sky, so I may as well just run some video while we’re doing it.”

Whittaker supplied the footage to an international photo agency and it was picked up by The Daily Telegraph newspaper in Britain, which posted it on its Facebook page, describing it as “stunning” and “mesmerising”.
