Savills appoints Damien Abela to new role in retail services team

Savills Australia has announced a change to its Melbourne-based retail services division.

Valuer Damien Abela has been appointed to the role of executive – retail services.

Mr Abela has previously worked in a boutique firm focusing on retail and commercial rental valuations after graduating with honours from RMIT.

Most recently, he worked in the Savills valuations team where he focused on prime Melbourne retail strips including Chapel Street, South Yarra and Bridge Road, Richmond as well as fast-food premises.

Savills’ Victorian director retail services, Michael Di Carlo, said the work stood Mr Abela in good stead for his new role.

“This is a role that Damien will excel at using his years of experience in conducting submissions and determinations on retail tenancies across the CBD and Melbourne’s prominent retail strips,” Mr Di Carlo said.
