A pair of contemporary barn-style short-term-rental residences in the Victorian High Country town of Beechworth have been brought to market.
John and Jane’s Beechworth, at 19 Kars Street, is being offered through expressions of interest as a freehold going concern. The 1014-square-metre property comprises two purpose-built houses that can be booked separately or combined to accommodate groups of up to 16 guests.
It’s the inspiration behind the architecture that’s drawing the most attention.
“The property has been tastefully designed, with the barn-style facade inspired by historic tobacco-drying sheds that are etched in the north-east rural areas – a historic tobacco growing region,” says Steph Mannix of CRE Brokers.

Beechworth’s heritage town, food and beverage businesses, cycling routes and position in Victoria’s High Country have long made it a popular destination for locals which makes accommodation assets a strong performing commercial class for investors.
“Beechworth and the surrounding area have a very strong tourist trade with top food, wine and sports offerings, particularly cycling, that brings many visitors to explore the region,” Mannix says.
“The history of the town is also a driving factor for tourism as its one of the oldest and best-preserved gold-rush towns in Victoria’s High Country.”
