Luxury Elandra Mission Beach Resort listed for $10 million
Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Coral Sea and Family Islands, the luxury Elandra Mission Beach resort is one of the more spectacular places to stay in the popular Queensland tourist town.
Now on the market with a $10 million price tag, the boutique resort has undergone a significant transformation since being acquired by hospitality operators Sam and Kerri-Ann Charlton in 2021.
Repositioning a boutique asset for high-yield hospitality
The Charltons bought the property with a vision to recreate the success they achieved at Bedarra Island Resort, their thriving holiday accommodation business off the coast of Mission Beach. They embarked on an extensive refurbishment after finding the former 56-room resort in a state of disrepair.
The remodel included the renovation of 20 guest rooms, the addition of a 120-seat gourmet restaurant and bar, a pool deck, conference facilities and a luxury day spa. The resort reopened in 2024.
“All the hard work has been done, with everything in place for the incoming owner to capitalise from day one,” Leah Bursztynowicz of Resort Brokers says.

The campaign is expected to attract interest from private investors, tourism operators and high-net-worth buyers seeking exposure to Australia’s premium tourism market.
“The Elandra is a trophy asset of true distinction, offering pure barefoot luxury,” Bursztynowicz says. “The views are sensational – the best in Queensland.
“We’re expecting strong interest in this offering, given that resorts of this calibre are tightly held. It’s a rare opportunity to acquire a top-tier resort in one of Australia’s premier high-end tourism destinations of international repute.”

Outperforming regional benchmarks in the luxury segment
The resort has delivered strong trading performance, recording occupancy above 90 per cent during peak periods and an average daily rate of $349, outperforming comparable properties.
“Guest reviews have been exceptional, with The Elandra consistently achieving very high ratings across online platforms, including a perfect 10 on Expedia,” Bursztynowicz says.
Beyond the existing operation, the property offers future growth potential, to further increase revenue and capitalise on the limited supply of luxury accommodation across the Mission Beach region.
“While the property is ready to go as is, expansion would significantly expand the resort’s revenue base,” Bursztynowicz says.
“With limited supply of high-end accommodation in Mission Beach, the expansion would position The Elandra among the region’s leading luxury resorts.”
