Blumberg Flowers - Expressions of Interest closing Friday 29 August 2025 USP
Exceptionally well sited the flower farm has had an ongoing successful operation at all levels. The one and only commercial size Chrysanthemum farm in South Australia.
Chrysanthemums offer universal appeal. Sometimes called mums or Chrysanths, they are flowering plants in the Asteraceae family. They are native to East Asia and northeastern Europe.
Chrysanthemum symbolizes wealth, good luck, longevity, joy, optimism and happiness in Eastern cultures. Many believe mums carry spiritual energy, their vibrant colours and radiant petals symbolize the sun, often representing a life force or spiritual core.
With the Chinese, within Feng Shui principles/beliefs, Chrysanthemums are associated with longevity and endurance and is said to bring happiness and good luck to any environment.

A Dutch concept farm, with all the growing beds providing inbuilt facilities together with drip feed irrigation and heating pipes for winter warmth and all year-round production.
There is also an enclosed Greenworks fogging system and night lighting also initiates and stimulates plant growth.
Since the property purchase the flower growing complex has been retro fitted and automated, computer controlled/managed (Privia System).
Integral systems include
• The Leperdi conveyor belt system which brings the cut plants (overhead) right into the huge packing shed.
• The Vandenberg Blokker Hollard system has been modified (for operational simplicity). The plants are placed on the ground level conveyer system (Aurora Nova grading packing system), whereby the said flowers are then sorted into bunches for the local and interstate wholesale and retail markets.
The automatic fertigation is driven from a fully integrated Priva Fertigation - Nutri Jet Priva Integro system.
The huge packing shed overall area 24m x 27.6m (overall) x 6.7m high being linked to the Besser block dedicated office area, plus the staff lunchroom area and the staff bathroom amenities.
There are also two huge cool rooms each 9.5m x 4.9m. There is another 3rd coolroom adjoining the glass house.
Behind the office staff amenities, the workshop is situated, together with further upstairs mezzanine storage. Adjacent are two more high gable modern colourbond sheds, one being 3 sided 9m x 12.8m, the other drive through (with roller doors at both ends) 5m x 12.8m.
The boiler room offers two systems for heating the entire plant portfolio/stock, one being a gas burner (Danstoker), the other a coal burner. Three large Elgas tanks offer plenty of standby gas storage, for heating and soil steaming,
Heavy duty 3 phase power has been distributed to the property, also in and about the infrastructure, there is also a modern auto 100KVA ABLE Diesel standby power plant.

NOTATIONS - CASHFLOW/GROSS PROFIT
It is important to note that the Vendor does not advertise at all (including all social media), rather they prefer to deal only with long established clients (direct face to face) in Adelaide, South Australia, furthermore one only contact/distributor/buyer in Sydney and only one contact/distributor/buyer in Melbourne.
Without overstating future cashflows, a new Vendor may well expand contacts (other contacts have approached the current owner on a regular basis), this commercial thrust invariably lifts competition and therefore pricing of the flowers, hence gross profit rises.
The current vendor prefers dealing with long term clients, thus maintaining a sense of ongoing trust and harmony, in essence stable cashflow with niche/stable customers.
In the last 12 months the overview of cashflow (in general terms)
• $40,000 per week
• $160,000 per month (12 calendar months)
• $2M per annum
CONCLUSION
Blumberg Flowers is certainly well placed in terms of open rural country, plenty of sound underground water streams (for bores) right through the immediate valley. Water licencing/Allocation (which is generous/certainly more than sufficient) ensures a great secure future, as well!
The said open country (80 acres) offers straight forward opportunity (say 60 acres +) for further infrastructure expansion (subject to the normal Government consents), also open field flower growing commercial applications, an ideal environment with good soils.
Access to all wholesale retail outlets whether North/Central or Southern Adelaide, as well as the International Airport are all relatively close, hence interstate as well.
"Run with" one of the most popular commercial varieties of flowers and enjoy the same sense (actual realities) of wealth, good luck, longevity, joy, optimism and happiness.
This year-round operation is not seasonal thus permanently enjoying weekly cash flows, a very important factor for business planning/banking/private cash flows. Immediate cashflow upon settlement.
