
Tonkin joins Grant Thornton in an Adelaide A-grade building
Infrastructure consultancy Tonkin has re-established its head office at a newly leased 1500 square metre office in the Adelaide CBD.
Tonkin has taken a whole floor lease at the A-grade property at 170 Frome Street for a net annual rent of $600,000, alongside current tenants Grant Thornton, in a move from the city fringe and to accommodate future expansion.
Developer Emmett Property completed the building last year, on a pre-commitment from Grant Thornton, which also moved from the city fringe.
Rook Salinger’s David Black brokered the deal for Tonkin while CBRE’s Andrew Bahr represented Emmett Property.
To Villawood
Kythrea Food Services has relocated to Villawood from Silverwater in Sydney’s west after signing a sub-lease over a 3543 square metre industrial facility at 33a Shaddock Avenue.
Landlord Villa Plaster Supplies agreed to the five-year lease at a net annual rent of $288,745 after it moved to bigger premises.
The property offers wide roller-door access and on-site parking.
CBRE’s John Karlovasitis, Michael O’Neill and Elijah Shakir brokered the deal.
Bed show
Local bedding giant Beds for Backs has agreed terms on a showroom at 388 Heidelberg Road, Fairfield, in Melbourne, on a three-year lease with options.
The net annual rent on the 550 square metre refurbished property with an open-plan layout and roller-door access is $90,000.
CVA’s Anthony Carbone and Craig McKellar were responsible.
Maybach expands
Residential builder Maybach Property Group has extended its lease over a whole floor office at 577-579 Church Street, Richmond, in Melbourne, as it continues expanding.
The 302 square metre property was leased at a net annual rent of $156,000.
Teska Carson’s Luke Bisset and Fergus Evan acted for a Melbourne investor.
Little to Big
Levant Consulting has relocated to Suite 311 at 546-566 Collins Street from Little Collins Street in Melbourne following a three-year lease with options on a net annual rent of $53,000.
The lease covers an 85 square metre office in an upgraded historical McPherson’s Building.
Gray Johnson’s Rory White says a rent-free month was part of the deal.
Parramatta duo
Maurice Blackburn has secured a 346 square metre ground floor commercial office lease while KPMG Australian Services has extended a 972 square metre office on Level 5 until 2023 at the same building at 91 Phillip Street, Parramatta, in Sydney’s west.
Net annual rents were struck at $475 a square metre.

Retail Canberra
MPG Capital Partners Pty Ltd has signed on beverage outlet Real Tea on a 60 square metre retail lease at No Name Lane, 40 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra, through Colliers International’s Caleb Brinton.
The five-year lease with options was struck at a gross annual rent of between $850 and $950 a square metre, it is understood.
Revved up
Beaconsfield Motorcycles has committed to a five-year lease with options on a 275 square metre industrial strata unit at 24-26 Burrows Road, Alexandria, in Sydney’s inner south, paying a gross annual rent of $290 a square metre.
The company relocated to the property after the redevelopment of its old factory nearby.
