Construction on ASSEMBLY commences in Campbellfield
ASSEMBLY has launched construction to deliver a new masterplanned industrial site to Melbourne's northern suburbs.

Original Ford site reborn as $30m industrial precinct in Melbourne’s north

The industrial sector continues to expand across Melbourne’s outer suburbs, with construction officially underway at ASSEMBLY, which will transform a 60-hectare master-planned precinct in Campbellfield.

Once home to Ford Motors Australia, the site is being repositioned as a next-generation employment hub designed to support logistics, warehousing, advanced manufacturing and technology.

The project was officially launched on March 16, bringing together government representatives and developers who highlighted the role the precinct is expected to play in supporting economic growth across Melbourne’s north.

“ASSEMBLY is a meaningful investment, a rare opportunity and a legacy project – not only for the Pelligra Group and our project partners, but for the surrounding communities who will benefit for decades to come,” said Pelligra Group managing director Ross Pelligra.

Hume City Council mayor, Cr Carly Moore, said the development would create new opportunities for the region.

“This development represents an exciting new chapter for Campbellfield and for businesses across Melbourne’s north, creating new opportunities for investment, employment and infrastructure that benefit our growing community,” Moore said.

The project marks one of Melbourne’s largest infill industrial redevelopment projects, strategically located within the city’s tightly held northern corridor.

In an industrial context, a masterplanned precinct ensures access, services and land use are coordinated from the outset, rather than delivered on a site-by-site basis.

Stage 1 of construction represents a $30 million investment and will focus on enabling works, including approximately 1.7 kilometres of new roads to unlock 44 hectares of fully serviced land.

Rather than delivering speculative builds, the first stage will be offered as a land release, allowing occupiers and developers to create bespoke facilities tailored to their operational needs. With no pre-sales currently in place, the release presents a blank canvas for buyers seeking scale, connectivity and long-term growth potential.

Land, development
The location is a major drawcard of the site with major highways and the airport nearby.

Lots will range from 2000 square metres to more than five hectares, catering to a broad mix of users across freight, transport, manufacturing and large-format retail.

Positioned along Sydney Road with direct access to the Hume Highway, Western Ring Road and Melbourne Airport, the precinct sits at the centre of Victoria’s freight and logistics network.
