Investa Property Group announces new chief executive and chief investment officers

The Investa Property Group has appointed Jonathan Callaghan as its chief executive and fund manager Peter Menegazzo as its chief investment officer.

Chairman David Baffsky said the board was delighted to confirm the appointments and looked forward to “excellent opportunities” in the next, transformative phase of the business.

The CEO appointment followed an extensive search process by the board.

“Jonathan’s broad experience, capability and intricate knowledge of the Investa platform and its people will deliver continuity, growth and ongoing strong performance, and we are excited about the prospect of giving Peter a broader strategic role across the platform,” Mr Baffsky said.

“Ensuring that Investa is the premier investment manager of institutional grade office properties in Australia and delivering outstanding results to all stakeholders are the key objectives.”

Mr Callaghan said: “I am thrilled to be appointed CEO of Investa and feel privileged to lead such an exceptional business and such a talented team.

“The capability of our people is unmatched in the industry and I am excited about the future of our operation under our new owners and board. I look forward to galvanising the business into its next phase of growth.”

Mr Callaghan has been with the group for more than 10 years, initially as group general counsel and more recently as managing director and finance director.

Incoming chief investment officer Mr Menegazzo has been with Investa for more than 11 years, most recently as group executive and fund manager of wholesale fund Investa Commercial Property Fund.

Mr Menegazzo will identify and implement strategic group initiatives, manage capital relationships, oversee capital transactions and research and provide investment support for all of the clients of the platform.

“It’s been a tremendously rewarding time running ICPF and I’m proud of what has been achieved,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to commencing in this new strategic role and continuing to leverage the strength of the platform, while capitalising on the opportunities, knowledge and capability of our highly experienced team.”
