Gwinganna owner lists new high-end corporate retreat EcoView Retreat for sale

A newly-built corporate retreat created by the owner of globally-recognised, award-winning wellness retreat Gwinganna has been listed for sale in Queensland’s Tallebudgera Valley.

The Gold Coast Hinterland hideaway, EcoView Retreat, offers privacy and serenity from a unique and versatile wellness space located next door to Gwinganna, just a 25-minute drive from Gold Coast Airport.

It aims to tap into a global trend for more sustainable, immersive nature-based and wellness experiences following the success of its sister venue, but with a twist – it’s self-catering.

EcoView Retreat, a retreat and corporate event space, is 25 minutes from the airport.

EcoView Retreat, at 660 Trees Road, rests on an elevated 28.06-hectare parcel of lush greenery with coastal and valley views, less than 15 minutes from cafes, shops, produce markets, restaurants and Burleigh Head’s beautiful beaches.

The retreat can sleep up to 30 people across 15 twin-share villas that sport luxury finishes, en suites and private decks, with luxury wellness features, including infra-red saunas and hydrotherapy pools on site.

There’s also a main building, or “gathering hub”, with a reception area, a commercial kitchen, communal living and dining areas, a conference or wellness centre, a yoga room, a gym, an expansive lawn area, landscaped gardens and a north-facing perspective.

Three hydrotherapy pools elevate the wellness offerings for guests.

Investors can operate primarily at a macro level. However, a dedicated manager’s residence is discreetly tucked into the property, due to operating under a “host your own” hire model with a “seamless” booking system.

“Upon booking, you will receive the keys to the entire facility. EcoView is entirely yours for the duration of your retreat,” its website reads.

“You may choose to use your own caterers and retreat facilitators, or we can provide you with a list of our preferred contractors, including outstanding local chefs, yoga instructors, therapists, wellness speakers, bushwalkers, and more.”

A minimum three-night stay is required, allowing guests and hosts to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy wildlife sightings while exploring bush trails, rainforests, and waterfalls.

Positioned on elevated land, views look to beaches, valleys and the Gold Coast.

The “highly profitable” investment opportunity comes to market via Kollosche agents, father and son team, Adam Grbcic and Tony Grbcic, who declined to offer a price estimate as they await market feedback due to the new property’s incomparability.

It follows three years of planning and building by vendor Tony de Leede, an ’80s aerobics instructor turned entrepreneur who founded Fitness First Australia.

“EcoView is the ideal asset for any investor who prefers to take a hands-off approach to their investments,” adds Adam Grbcic.

“Everything required to operate a successful and profitable business has already been established, with every detail on-site, down to the coffee cups, pots and pans, already in place.

Fifteen villas sleep up to 30 guests, with different bedding configurations.

“Having said that, extensive potential remains, not only within the existing space, but on the wider property to expand on what are already promising income-earning returns.”

The turnkey retreat, advertised as the only one of its kind on the Gold Coast, includes all furnishings, equipment and branding across its 1553 square metres of floor space.

The property is different to Gwinganna, says de Leede, focusing on corporate business and small groups (yes, even small weddings) rather than individuals on a mission towards self-improvement. It could also be used for destination longevity clinics, medical health or rehabilitation recovery clinics, and private family gatherings.

At Gwinganna, a “wellness haven maintained by healthy boundaries”, organic meals are in, while caffeine, soft drinks, alcohol and cigarettes are out. At EcoView, it’s your choice.

“I am thrilled after three years of planning and construction, to finally be unveiling this amazing venture,” says de Leede.

The aesthetic is clean and warm, with bedding versatile to fit your occasion.

“I am equally excited to be simultaneously bringing it to market, opening up the opportunity for a savvy investor to own and expand on this incredibly unique and highly-profitable business concept and commercial offering,” he says.

“With Nature-Based Tourism zoning approved for wellness and retreat activities and operations, the versatility and flexibility of EcoView means its potential is bound only by the imagination.”

A stay at EcoView Retreat could cost $57,400 for 30 people for seven nights, with the option to add up to five additional multipurpose or treatment rooms, which can be converted into extra rooms for staff to sleep in.

Meanwhile, Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat is spread across 200 hectares in a hidden part of the Tallebudgera Valley, with a seven-night stay priced at $9,275 for a premium, single villa.

A bathroom with high-end finishes adds to the luxury getaway vibes.

Gwinganna has been the recipient of close to 20 eco-resort, luxury spa and wellness retreat awards since 2013, including Global Winner of Best Luxury Eco Spa at the World Luxury Spa Awards in 2021, and Wellness Retreat of the Year 24/45 at the Corporate Livewire Awards.

De Leede – through his company Wellness Solutions – also founded Komune Bali and wellness co-working space Wello Works in the Sydney suburb of Rosebery.

Wello Works features a state-of-the-art wellness centre, including O2 breathing, an infrared sauna with salt bricks, LED light therapy, hydromassage, a meditation pod, cold/hot therapy, and working spaces for hire to get your to-do list ticked off.
