For sale: Five properties that bring the sporting action to your own backyard

We may have missed out on tuning into the Olympics this year, but who is to say you can’t have some sporting fun on your own turf?

Commercial Real Estate has rounded up five properties with a distinctly sporting flavour, ranging from the slow-paced to the adrenaline-pumping.

Under the instruction of receivers, Peppers the Sands Torquay – a hotel and golf course on the Victorian Surf Coast – is for sale by expressions of interest.

Situated on around 76.5 hectares, the resort includes an 18-hole links-style golf course designed by Australian professional golfer Stuart Appleby. The course comes with a club house, 50 golf carts, practice range and shop.

The property also includes a 112-room hotel with conference facilities.

It’s on the market with Guy Wells and Gus Moors of Colliers International, with expressions of interest closing Wednesday, September 23.

Fancy something a little more fast-paced than golf? This tenpin bowling alley in Kirwan, Queensland, could be more your speed.

Being offered to market for the first time since 1992, the property features 24 tenpin bowling lanes, eight squash courts, dodgem cars and a fully licensed kiosk and snack bar.

The property, which is currently fully under management on a short lease, is well-suited to a family operation or an investor, according to the listing.

With the Australian ski season still having some time to run in 2020, what better time than to secure your own slice of snow-themed action?

Seven ski lifts are up for sale at Ben Lomond, Tasmania’s most prominent skiing destination. The lifts consist of a mix of t-bars and pommas.

The lifts are marketed as a going concern, and listing agent John Castran of Castran Property is seeking offers of $1.75 million or more.

Ben Lomond is located within the Ben Lomond National Park, around 60 kilometres from Launceston.

Spread over 22.77 hectares, this property on Queensland’s Gold Coast is a horse lover’s dream. There are 53 fully fenced paddocks with shelters or stables, each equipped with automatic drinkers for the horses.

The property incorporates the Gold Coast Equestrian Centre, with facilities including an Olympic-size fully covered sand arena, two large jumping arenas, a lunge yard and cross-country course.

The riding school, which can be included in the sale, has been operating for 10 years and caters to all riders from beginner to advanced.

With a pub in the front and a rodeo arena outback, this Queensland listing has all your entertainment needs covered.

The Great Western Hotel Rockhampton has produced more than its fair share of champion bull riders, according to the listing, but now its owner is looking to hand over the reins.

The property includes a 2200-square-metre industrial shed which houses a full rodeo set-up, including grandstands and a stage area.

The hotel area includes a main bar, restaurant and beer garden while the 12 hotel rooms have been converted into office space.
