Conder medical centre site receives DA approval, paving way for new health hub
Conder residents have a lot to look forward to, with a purpose-built medical and/or health facility now one step closer.
Development approval has been granted for a facility to be built on a block of more than 1300 square metres on Sidney Nolan Street.
That could see a single-storey building of up to 550 square metres constructed, providing a potential new home for a GP clinic and allied health services.
Chris Antos of Ray White Commercial says the block represents one of the last vacant sites of this size in Conder.
“Importantly, it’s purpose-zoned for a community facility,” he says. “And with a DA already in place, construction could begin very quickly.”
Antos says the opportunity will appeal to a wide range of professionals.
“There will likely be strong interest from investors and developers, as well as national medical and health operators,” he says.
“This is an exciting opportunity that will see the development of a medical and health hub that will deliver a real benefit to the local community.”
Family-friendly Conder was established in 1991 and is one of three suburbs in the Lanyon Valley, alongside Gordon and Banks.
About 30 minutes from Canberra CBD, Conder sits at the southern end of Tuggeranong, framed by the Brindabellas, the Murrumbidgee River corridor and the historic Lanyon Homestead.
