Global property logistics business Goodman Group has appointed Macquarie Capital’s former global head of real estate Chris Green as a director.

Chairman of Goodman Group Ian Ferrier said as the business expands globally Mr Green’s “deep understanding of innovation and technology along with global real estate and capital flows, will bring insights into these trends and markets”.

The directorship adds to Mr Green’s ongoing role as chief executive of GreenPoint Partners, a business he founded since leaving Macquarie in July last year after 16 years.

Headquartered in New York, GreenPoint Partners is a private equity firm looking to invest in early stage companies creating technology solutions in the real estate sector.

“Given the complexity of the physical environment, we anticipate that continued innovation in real estate requires close collaboration between real estate owners / managers and technology companies,” said Mr Green.

“At GreenPoint we are seeking to enhance the nexus between these groups and stimulate further innovation in the sector.”
