In 2025, MJM celebrates 43 years in the commercial real estate industry.

Michael’s journey began in the 1980s when he completed his Associate Diploma of Valuation & Real Estate Agency Certificate at the former Sydney Tech College, now known as the University of Technology. He then gained valuable experience working with commercial property owners, developers, and agents before moving overseas to work in London.

The 1990s saw Michael working with Hillier Parker and Grosvenor Properties in London, followed by his return to Australia where he focused on the industrial and commercial markets, including boarding houses, pubs and liquor stores.

In the mid-1990s, Michael founded MJM Property Group as a boutique consulting, valuation, and agency business. His goal was to leverage his experience to provide a broad range of services to a diverse client base, including tenants, owner-occupiers, and investors.

The advisory side of the business has grown to include services such as rental review valuations, outgoings auditing, land use surveys, and tenant representation. In 2025, land tax consulting is particularly in demand.

In 2015, responding to client demand, MJM expanded to include a Property Management division, successfully serving large and private commercial, retail, and industrial property owners.
