Matthew was born in Sydney, and moved to the Gold Coast in 1985. He attended a local school TSS and enjoyed all sports, graduated in 1990.

Matthew started in real estate at a young age working in a large Surfers Paradise franchise office, learning all the necessary skills in Auctioning, Negotiating, and Marketing & Sales.

After a few short years was approached to join an Australian Funds Management company who operated in Australian property sector.

Over a 14 year period Matthew worked as a Business Development Manager and Regional Manager with in Sydney & Melbourne markets. Matthew roles included working closely with Financial Advisers, Super Funds, and Financial Platforms & Wrap services. Matthew was appointed to establish and operate a London office. He and his family lived and worked in London from 2008 – 2012.

After returning from London in 2012, Matthew opened and operated a successful real estate in Sorrento Queensland under his own licence, McCarthy Real Estate is now proud to be working in conjunction with First National Surfers Paradise.
