I’m Matt Blackford, and I work with buyers and sellers across Collie and the South West. I was born and raised here, and I’ve spent most of my life involved in this community — through work, sport, and local clubs. That connection gives me a genuine understanding of the area and shapes how I approach every client and property.

Before moving into real estate, I spent 20 years working as a heavy-duty mechanic in the mining industry. That background taught me the importance of reliability, hard work, and doing things properly the first time. Those same values carry through into how I operate today — be honest, be consistent, and always do the right thing by people.

I came into real estate a little differently to most, encouraged by someone who knew me well and believed I’d be a strong fit for the industry. They were right about one thing — I genuinely enjoy what I do. Being trusted to guide people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives is something I take seriously and never take for granted.

Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, approachable, and easy to talk to. My goal is to make the process feel clear and manageable. Buying or selling can be stressful, so I focus on open communication, realistic expectations, and keeping everything moving forward with purpose. Behind the scenes, there’s a lot of strategy involved — from pricing and presentation to marketing and negotiation — but for my clients, the experience should feel steady, supportive, and well handled.

Every property and every situation is different, so I take the time to understand what matters most and tailor the approach to suit. My team and I put a lot of care into how each home is presented and launched, making sure it’s positioned strongly from day one.

While industry recognition is always appreciated, what matters most to me is the trust my clients place in me and the relationships that continue long after the sale. In a town like Collie, that means everything.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me keeping active, spending time near the water, working on projects, or catching up with family and friends. This community has given me a lot over the years, and being able to contribute to it through my work is something I’m proud of.
