John was born and raised in the Burdekin and has spent his whole life around the cane farming industry. Coming from a third-generation farming family that first settled in the district in 1947, he understands the land, the people and the hard work that comes with life on the land.

With more than 25 years of hands-on experience in agriculture, John has a strong understanding of farming operations, rural business and the history of local properties throughout the region. In 2007, he brought that knowledge into rural real estate, helping farmers and landowners make informed decisions when buying and selling rural property.

John is well known for his honest approach, strong work ethic and straightforward communication. He values integrity and reliability, and takes pride in providing genuine service and long-term support to his clients.

In 2014, John became a partner in Nutrien Harcourts McCathies and in 2021 continued to play a leading role in the business as Principal and a specialist in rural real estate. Whether it’s discussing farm values, water, production potential or the local market, John is always willing to share his knowledge and lend a hand to anyone looking to buy or sell rural property in the Burdekin.
