Having grown up on a mixed sheep and cropping property, Andrew has spent his working life involved in the agriculture sector. Having completed a Diploma in Applied Science (Ag) at Longerenong, Andrew's early career path involved working across a number of regions, including the Riverina and the western division of New South Wales, as well as locally in Western Victoria.

This led to working in an agency business with senior roles across the eastern states, before landing in Hamilton, which enabled his practical farming connections to be re-established. In early 2010, Andrew along with Lachlan McDonald and Nick Adamson partnered with Charles Stewart to establish Charles Stewart Western Victoria, specialising in rural and lifestyle properties throughout the South West of Victoria.

Throughout his tenure in that role, Andrew established himself as a specialist in the marketing of historic properties in the Hamilton district. In addition to his DipAppSci (Ag), Andrew holds a Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness (Monash) and is a fully qualified real estate agent.
