Sandalwood Station comprises of 16,060 hectares in 2 GHPL titles and has the added benefit of an additional area of approx.. 1098 hectares of usable stock route. It is located approx.. 90km south of Hughenden with dual access from both the Hughenden Muttaburra Road and also through Stamford off the Hughenden Winton Road.
Currently the property has been utilised for a mix of breeding, backgrounding and fattening in conjunction with other operations. Under the existing ownership Sandalwood has benefited from the extensive capital works programs undertaken and is well recognised for these features.
Structural improvements include a 5 bedroom raised Queenslander style homestead, separate 8 room donga style quarters & several service sheds all located at the homestead complex. Sandalwood has a secure water supply. Water is sourced from 3 bores - 1 solar and 2 mains power - which supply approx.. 20 tanks and 48 troughs for stock water through a new/upgraded reticulation system. The traversing Rockwood, Ashantee and Sandalwood Creeks provide numerous seasonal and semi-permanent water holes.
It is fully boundary fenced and internally into 12 main, 3 large & 3 smaller holding paddocks. The property has benefited again from a targeted capital improvement program which has included over 120 km of new fencing being erected with 10km of refurbishment in recent times.
Whist experiencing a later break in the season, the recent rain received - in excess of 125mm in April - has been ideal for pasture germination and presents with a good stand of fresh pasture that continues to strengthen in volume.
The property will be sold bare of stock and plant providing the advantage for the purchaser to move their own cattle onto the property. It has been destocked since mid December 2020 in preparation for sale, allowing pastures to grow and strengthen more rapidly.
