Reliable Breeder Block - Family owned since 1904

By and large, the majority of the country is undulating, rising to mountain range on the western boundary; it is mostly open forest country of Iron Bark, Blood Wood and small patches of Gum Top Box. Grasses consist of Indian Couch and Natives, including Black Spear. In 2017, approximately 1000 acres was pulled and raked. A further 260 acres (approx.) was cutter barred and planted with Silk, Buffel and Rhodes grass in 2021.
It consists of five paddocks, two holding paddocks and a laneway to cattle yards from some of the paddocks to simplify mustering. The timber cattle yards are well built and in good order.
There are 5 dams in total. Six tanks are connected with poly pipe to two dams, one equipped with diesel pump and one with a solar pump. Additionally there is a bore and well, both equipped with solar. For the past 8 years the annual Rainfall has averaged 596mm.
Mountain Hut has always been used as the main breeding block for Craigilee. The property will run approximately 600 Breeders and Progeny (through to weaners). Additional country has been acquired next to the home block which will allow for the Breeder Herd to be relocated, it is for this reason that the property is being offered for sale.
