"Longford" - Grazing Scale - 30 min to Armidale

    Located 35km from the regional city of Armidale the Longford Aggregation' comprises three separate properties as follows;

    Longford' - 982.46ha
    Romni' - 611.84ha
    Dulvay' - 667.57ha

    Longford was purchased by the current owners from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation - CSIRO in 1999. The long tenure of ownership by the CSIRO saw significant capital investment made in the way of shedding, yards, fencing, internal roads, water security, fertiliser application and pasture development on the property.

    Current management has continued on with the Longford legacy and have further driven the productivity of the asset. The property carries a great reputation and was well known as the home for both the Longford Angus cattle stud and Longford Merino sheep stud. An ongoing pasture renovation program combined with strong fertiliser inputs have further bolstered the reputation of Longford in its capacity to deliver prime sale stock with excellent weight for age.

    The fencing is well maintained with the property subdivided into approximately 60 main paddocks plus a number of smaller holding paddocks which are centrally located being developed to facilitate the needs of the stud operation. Extensive laneways and internal roads throughout the property deliver a high level of efficiency per labour unit. The substantial stock yards and working infrastructure are well located on the farm with excellent access for plant, machinery and trucks.

    The property includes an extensive inventory of shedding for commodities and machinery and is well equipped with livestock handling facilities to comfortably cater for the requirements of either beef or sheep grazing enterprises.

    Stock water is well supplied via a network of troughs fed from a reticulation system, several reliable creeks plus a large number of dams with good capacity.
