    The soil profile comprises of a heavy black and chocolate brown self-mulching basalt soil suitable for both summer and winter cropping. Two centre pivots with an overall area of 124 hectares and additional 49 hectares of flood irrigation. The remaining arable areas comprise of dryland cultivation. There are three irrigation bores, 16 megalitre holding sump and pivot pump. Irrigation water is supplied via Upper Namoi Zone 2 aquifer licence WAL 12529, totalling 246 units.
