"We purchased this property as it offered us an amazing lifestyle and was central to both Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast. Such an easy commute for work.
At time of purchase there was a basic house, three green tanks, a set of old cattle yards and 2 recently dug dams that were not connected to the house. We immediately saw what we could do to improve this living space and in doing so have enjoyed a fabulous life here.
The house no longer resembles the pink brick house we found with green kitchen and bathrooms. The house now boasts a great entertainers patio which has been the venue for many functions including all the family Christmas celebrations. Another bonus is that guests who have had a little too much fun can camp on the property rather than driving home. BYO tent of course.
Water is now pumped from the dam to the smaller tank and is used for cattle trough, gardens and the toilets. We have also put silver perch in the bottom dam which should be as big as a dinner plate by now. There are also crawchies down there.
2 large sheds have been added one for work space and storage and the other for your bigger toys. The addition of 4 large tanks ensures that you will never have a shortage of water.
The vegetable and herb garden have produced masses of food to the point that you will become a pickling wiz and reap the benefits for a long time. The fruit trees have sadly been ignored over the last 12 months but with some TLC they will produce mandarins, oranges, lemons, mangoes, macadamia nuts, peaches and apples. There are a couple down there now.
We also dabbled in cattle just for fun and did quite well actually. With the wet season the grasses will regrow to the lush green paddocks again.
It is now your turn to put your mark on this special property and enjoy the peace and tranquillity it offers listening to the kookaburras laugh, the parrots and a variety of birds sing. When the gum blossoms are out you can go spotlighting for sugar gliders and possums. Or you can simply walk out the back and watch the stars in the sky and point out to your children the different constellations. It is truly beautiful out there at night."
