In the early 1900's the North Qld gold rush ended and some well remembered Chinese market gardeners moved, settled and farmed on the very best crop land available in the Burdekin to produce the highest value crop return possible.
This 18ha (44.35acre) farm with 16.12ha of cane production area at Kennedy St Ayr on the edge town was the type of land then in great demand. Now growing sugar cane and continually tipping the tonnes and sugar per ha scale for the district time and time again.
