    Originally designed and established by one of the Barossa's well know Winemakers some 25 years ago as an investment in the Barossa's grape growing (fraternity) and joined by other like minded investors the "Carrot Block" or "The Block" affectionately named, has become a main stay fruit supply to local wineries until now, due to imminent retirement of the Director's, it will be sold and passed on to a new enterprise.
    Competently managed by the owner's and their team of skilled vignerons "The Block" has enjoyed some great vintages and a couple of average ones, as seasons prevail, but has always retained a strong sales portfolio for its fruit supplying on average just over 300 per tonne per annum.
    Planted predominantly to Shiraz some 31.22 ha and a lesser amount of Merlot 1.9 ha and 1.4 ha of Viognier totalling some 36 hectares of plantings. The remaining total area of 38.56 hectares comprises of a large 4 ml holding dam to assist with the reliable automatic irrigation system which is supported by an underground water licence supply of 58.0 ML (which can be supported from a 50mm mains) supplied with three bores and supported by an efficient irrigation system.
