The Imperial Hotel built in 1916 occupies a prominent position in town on the intersection of the Mitchell Highway and town's main street.

Annual events which swell the towns number include, Gold Cup (March), Trangie Truck and Tractor Show (Biennially April), Macquarie Picnic Races (Dec) and the Pink Pigeon (Dec-Jan).
