Yuulong Lavender Estate is a picturesque lavender farm privately nestled amongst rolling hills and native trees in the quaint rural town of Mt Egerton, just under an hour west of Melbourne and twenty five minutes from the historical city of Ballarat.
Within this beautiful setting there lies approximately five acres of lavender plants that flower over summer, as well as another half acre of cottage gardens that provide an array of colour from spring through to autumn.
In true Australian style, this farm is also the home of a family of kangaroos, and attracts the occasional koala and echidna, as well as a range of colourful birds and butterflies.
Set on a total of 20 acres, this privately located farm features a three bedroom home, established licensed cafe And tearooms, gift shop, plus large implement/machinery shed, production/drying shed, packing room and greenhouse/nursery area.
For more than 30 years Yuulong Lavender Estate has attracted visitors from all over Australia as well as international tourists. With steadily increasing business from in-bound tour operators as well as bookings from Probus, seniors, garden and travel groups the cafe, gift shop and tearooms are a hive of activity from spring through to autumn.
Overlaying the tourism side of the business, is the manufacturing side, which sees a wide range of lavender skincare, beauty and household products made on-site on the farm. There is also a variety of unique homemade preserves, many featuring our culinary 'Egerton Blue' lavender. These popular products and preserves are sold through the gift shop, online and at regular monthly farmer's markets all year round.
