In the hills country the pastures comprise predominantly native grasses such as spear grass and kangaroo grass. This is complemented by areas of improved pastures comprising cocksfoot, phalaris and clovers in the higher-rainfall country.

On the arable land the vendors have an established fertiliser program. The cropping program in 2020 included the planting of forage ryecorn, forage oats and tillage brassica.

The property is made up of 12 freehold titles comprising 25 individual allotments. Karinya is well-fenced into 27 paddocks and features kilometres of stunning dry-stone walls built in the late1800s.

The vendors have stocked the property conservatively and have run an operation using land-care principles, balancing production with conservation.

In 2010, the vendors entered into a Funding Agreement for an Environmental Stewardship Program, whereby they manage grazing pressure on a portion of land at the propertys eastern end, to promote and retain natural regeneration of Peppermint Box native grassland.
