The property is located in the Jarvisfield area of the Burdekin District. It is approximately 11.0 kms from the Bruce Highway, approximately 11.5 kms from Ayr, and approximately 100.0 kms from Townsville. The Burdekin District is recognized as a premium sugar cane producing area, and has four Wilmar sugar mills. The Burdekin District comprises the townships of Ayr, Home Hill, Brandon and Giru – other farming communities include Clare, Millaroo, Dalbeg and Gumlu. Resident population of the Burdekin shire is approximately 17,784.

It has approved permits to undertake soil extraction, screening, stockpiling and product mixing (Extractive Industry) upon compliance with the Planning and Environment Court Order no. 56 of 2014 (Development Approval), with an annual maximum extraction limit of 100 000 cubic meters of material, issued by the Burdekin Shire Council and Planning and Environment Court Townsville, and ERA issued under the Extractive Industries Development Act 1995 (EIDA) by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP).
