Location: 5km South West of Giru, 35km North of Ayr and 55km South of Townsville.
Area: Freehold- 60.7ha (150ac) of which 54.2ha (134ac) are cultivated.
Services: The farm has weekly garbage collection, bitumen road frontage and 3-phase power. Post Office and Primary school in Giru, Secondary schools in Ayr and Townsville. Ayr has a population of 10,000 with another 10,000 in the surrounding area supplying a busy town centre with both large and small retailers, banks, etc. Townsville has a population of over 180,000 with a large Government and industrial presence. Soil: There are loam soils along the river frontage running to dark clay soils moving away from the river. The farm is laser leveled and flood irrigated. Sugar cane has been cut green for 9 years allowing complete regeneration of the soil as well as reducing fertilizer, water, fuel & electricity costs. The farm has been set up with cane being planted in dual rows with a 6' spacing between rows.
Water: The farm has a 430 megalitre allocation from the Haughton River, this is charged at $20/meg.
